About the Winter Festival of Lights
When the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights (WFOL) opens its 37th season on November 16th it will feature many new illuminations for visitors to enjoy. The Festival’s iconic 8km-long lighting route travels through the Niagara Parks, into surrounding tourist areas and will feature over three million lights. The route will be illuminated every night from 5:00 PM to midnight starting on November 16thand continuing until January 12th, 2020.
Recognized as Canada’s “Event of the Year” in 2018 by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights (WFOL) is one of North America’s premier illumination festivals. The WFOL attracted over 1.8 million visitors to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada during its 2018 season. Attendees of the OPG Winter Festival of Lights marvel at over three million lights along an 8km long lighting route which travels along the Niagara Parkway, into Dufferin Islands and surrounding tourist areas. The 2019 OPG Winter Festival of Lights’ season will run from November 16, 2019 to January 12, 2020 and feature popular interactive exhibits, light art displays, Sound & Light Shows, signature illuminations and festive events.
